The library on the beach

A Chinese architect has created what must be one of the world's quietest reading spaces, on a beach outside the city of Qinhuangdao.

There's no road access, so readers have to walk along the beach - and many are flocking to use its facilities.

The Daily Mail profiles the new library, taken from a Chinese news source, which stands only a few metres from the waves. 

Books are ranged over two floors in a building that makes the most of natural light.
