Post-occupancy evaluation of library buildings
A new book from IFLA tackles the subject of post-occupancy evaluation, an essential step in the creation of effective library spaces, often overlooked.

The book has been edited by Karen Latimer, Queen's University of Belfast and Dorothea Sommer, Universitäts und Landesbibliothek Sachsen-Anhalt, Halle.
It provides a opportunity to assess whether the construction and design of the building has indeed met the library's and users' requirements and how effectively the building functions.
Includes chapters on approaches to continuous facilities management, working with focus groups, and how to improve library buildings after evaluation. There are several international case studies, and a final section that includes a POE questionnaire in English, French, German and Spanish.
