Meeting spaces in libraries
Bristol is among several library authorities that have recently installed private meeting pods in libraries.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Asher Craig, who has responsibility for Bristol’s library service, said: “We have installed Nooks in several of our libraries across Bristol and they have proved popular as quiet study spaces.
“This year we have joined the British Library’s Business and IP Centre Network and we incorporated two Nooks into the design of our new Business Centre at our Central Library. They will provide informal meeting spaces within the centre as well as a significant degree of privacy for one-to-one meetings.
“We are really pleased to be able to offer more focused work spaces which are ideal for entrepreneurs and start-ups using the Business Centre to research and access business information and support to grow their small businesses.”
Nooks are mobile, quiet, focus pods that are designed to provide a feeling of wellbeing and calm without causing isolation, and a useful addition to the ranges currently on the market for libraries designing workspaces and meeting spaces. Nook is also an internationally certified autism resource.
