Double height lower ground study area housing over 200 computers. 50 kilometres of shelving help maintain the Library's primarily open access approach. Bookshelves serve a secondary function of absorbing noise in quiet study areas on the perimeter of the building. A user friendly layout with many facilities replicated on each floor and co-ordinated signage throughout. Presence-detection lighting and natural ventilation are designed to achieve energy conservation.
