Description
Description
Built opposite one of the main entrances to Blanchardstown shopping centre, close to the civic complex and Arts Centre. The local area offices for the County Council are attached to the library.
The library is the largest public library in the country. It has been designed as a bright lofty two-storey space with a large mezzanine. The roof is stepped with a series of high-level north lights, giving a high level of natural light without the intrusion or heat build-up of direct sunlight.
The entire complex is fully accessible to the disabled. The facilities for the disabled are designed to be seamless and feel part of the building, not just an add-on.
