A Friends of Benslow Music Concert
Soprano Alison Langer, is a 2017/18 Opera Award Bursary winner and a recipient of the 2018 Richard Agnes Award.
In March 2020, she was due to make her Royal Opera House debut playing the role of Berena in Jenufa - Janacek before the pandemic struck a week before the premiere.
Most recently she performed the role of Adina in L’elisir d’amore Donizetti for Waterperry Opera Festival and Violetta La Traviata Verdi for Opera Holland Park and Rose Maurrant for Opera North's Street Scene Weill in their winter tour. Before that, she performed the role of Oscar in Opera Holland Park's '5 stars' performance of Un Ballo in Maschera Verdi. In October, Alison made her international concert debut singing the Soprano solo in Mozart C Minor Mass for the Collegium Musicums In Bergen, Norway and has since been invited back as a regular soloist.
In January of 2019 and the autumn of 2018, Alison created and performed the role of Young Heidi to critical acclaim in Follies at The National Theatre London alongside Dame Felicity Lott, Dame Josephine Barstow and Imelda Staunton under the baton of Nigel Lilley and director Dominic Cooke.
Previously for Opera North, Alison has sung highlights from Tosca, Katya Kabanova and The Merry Widow.
In 2019, Alison created and debuted a tribute concert/recital performance in a tribute to "The Swedish Nightingale" Jenny Lind. This came after filming the role of the Swedish Soprano for ITV's Production of Victoria (Series 3, Episode 4) This concert is currently in plans for a UK tour with an aim to record an album of the songs and arias of Jenny Lind this year.

On the concert platform, Alison has sung at many prestigious venues as a soloist, including the Mozart Requiem at St Martin in the Fields last November. Solo performances have taken her to the Buxton Opera House, Barbican Centre, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Albert Hall and The House of Lords The Ritz and The Savoy Hotel.
