Housing enquiries, council tax and benefits advice as well as library services will be available under one roof in the refurbished Town Hall building, with payment and self-service kiosks and 30 public computers.

The new library has 20% more shelf space, dedicated children's and teen zones and a new local studies area. Local schools were involved in choosing many of the new books.

The redevelopment is part of the council's programme to reduce its estate and provide more efficient and customer-focused services.
