Magee Learning Resource Centre

Set on a high point of the campus, looking over Lough Foyle, the new centre is visually very attractive. Designed to make the most use of natural light it features light wells which create a sense of space. The building arranged in a simple rectangular plan form is accentuated by projecting staircase enclosures. A high degree of energy efficiency is gained through the use of automatically controlled louvre panels, among other features. Solar shading has been incorporated, providing further layering and interest to the prominent facade.

Information Skills Centre with 55 seats for user education, short loan collection, 20 network connections for laptop users, cafe providing refreshments with attractive views over Lough Foyle, rare books room with envioronmentally controlled conditions for the Magee and Derry and raphoe Diocesan collections.
