Leicestershire County Council is extending Loughborough library in Granby Street, to enable three services to operate from one site.

Under the plans, adult learning and community opportunities – activities for people with disabilities – will be provided at the library.

When it is complete later this year it will provide, among other services,

  • Services to promote the independence of people with disabilities, including a state-of-the-art interactive multi-sensory area
  • New adult learning facilities
  • Relocated local studies collection on the ground floor

The first phase of the work will start in early June, with work starting on the main extension in the autumn. It is funded from the council's capital programme.
