Description

Description

Dereham library is a 2 storey building with public areas on both floors, the first floor can be accessed by stairs or lift. There are accessible toilets for library users on both floors.

The ground floor is designed to be a lively area with express collection, sound & vision, children's area, self service, council information centre, quick use computers and an area where visitors can enjoy a coffee and read the paper.

The first floor houses the main fiction and non-fiction collection, reference books, computers, study area and seating where customers can sit and relax.

A special feature of the building is the green roof over a single storey area of the ground floor, planted with sedum, it is visible from the first floor south and west facing windows.

Internally there are 2 stained glass windows commissioned from Martin Donlin, located in the main entrance/stairs area and on the first floor landing.
