The library is an integral part of the new Public Services Centre, with two entrances to the library - one from the plaza at the front of the building, the other from the interior of the building.
The Public Services Centre is one of six such facilities being built as a key element of a programme of decentralisation of services by the Council.
A modern, angular building with a modern interior with a high ceiling and plenty of natural light. There are paintings by local artists on the walls, and a specially designed window on the town side of the space.
Consultation on accessibility included a walk/wheel through by local special needs organisations.
