Funding boosts new library developments in Wales

Welsh libraries are to benefit from central grant funding to support library building refurbishment and service developments.

Work is underway on a new library in Prestatyn which will form an integral part of a community learning and cultural hub for the town.

The investment by Denbighshire County Council is partly funded by a CyMAL grant of £300,000.

The Welsh government recently announced grants totalling £2m in the latest round of funding for libraries and museums in Wales. Six libraries will benefit from funding to modernise their buildings and facilities - and to invest in more online content.

The six libraries are: Canton in Cardiff, Cwmbran, Morriston in Swansea, Bridgend, Newtown and Haverfordwest.
