Hammersmith Library set for £2m upgrade

The 1905 Grade II listed building in Shepherd's Bush Road will undergo refurbishment, with a plan to house the borough's archive collection there in 2016.

12 April 2013

The extensive refurbishment is expected to be completed by the end of 2013, with more books, new furniture and shelving, self-issue terminals and music listening posts.

Hammersmith is part of the 'Tri-Borough' service sharing initiative with Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea - the council says that the cost savings made by sharing back office systems has helped secure the future of libraries across the three boroughs.
