The report on the designboom website says each of the coloured boxes are assigned to a different function: the blue container is for entertainment and popular books, the red containers extend out as a canopy over an open-air circular reading terrace, and holds the science and technology books, the yellow is reserved for the women's reading room and the green acts as the main entrance lobby space.

A truly amazing and inspiring library space - photos and plans can be seen by following the link on the right.
