Library book vending machine for Warwickshire
The first book vending machine has been installed in a Warwickshire hospital by the county library service for the use of patients and staff.

D-Tech International Ltd has been selected by Warwickshire County Council to design, supply and install a library book vending machine to the George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
The VENDIT ™ unit, says D-Tech, is the first of its kind to be installed in the UK and will provide hospital staff, visitors and patients who are Warwickshire library members self-service access to books 24/7.
Transformation and Engagement Officer Alison Insley said: ‘As part of the Transformation Programme, Warwickshire Library and Information Service is seeking to utilise new technology to enhance service provision and to make more efficient use of its resources. The purchase of a Library Book Vending Machine is part of the transformation agenda with the objective to test out and pilot a new delivery mechanism for the library service.’
The official launch for the VENDIT™ unit at the George Eliot Hospital is the 15th March 2013.
