New Norwegian library designed as an inviting space

The new Vennesla public library in Norway with its undulating wooden internal structure has succeeded in creating an amazing refuge in an urban setting.

Looking like a huge wooden ribcage inside, the library in Vennesla is a giant urban loggia designed to create a welcoming public space that combines some innovative shelving and display concepts with a cafe, meeting place, administrative areas and a community and learning centre.
