A database and image gallery of library buildings

The Designing Libraries database is a permanent searchable record of new and refurbished library buildings in the UK and Ireland.

Notes for contributors

Please read the following guidance notes before submitting material for inclusion in the database.

Submitting database records

Designing Libraries currently accepts records from libraries in the UK and Ireland.

By submitting records or images to the database you warrant as the submitting person that you are the copyright holder or are acting on behalf of or with the permission of the copyright holder authorising the use of the information provided on the Designing Libraries database and website.

Copyright holders can update or amend a library record by finding the record in the database and clicking on 'Suggest changes to this record'.

Designing Libraries edits and approves all new or amended records before publishing them on the website.

If you would like a hard copy of the database entry form to help collate information prior to completing the online form, please request a copy using the contact form on this page. In the message please include the type of library (public, academic, school library) so we can send you the right form.

Images

Please read the Image Submission Guidelines, downloadable from this page, before submitting images to be included in a database record.

Copyright notice

The images in the database and gallery are the copyright of the library authority, organisation or agency submitting them. For permission to reuse or redistribute images please contact the responsible authority identified in the database record.
