Wheelchair users will benefit from a fully automated gate to access the library.
Three self-service 'Issue & Renew' kiosks and two automatic 'Book Returns' will be introduced. These will simplify book circulation, enabling users to issue books from the library, access their library account and return books.
To assist with library queries, a new Enquiry & Assistance desk has been installed in the former Science Issue Desk area.
The computer cluster on the ground floor, the largest at UCL, has been enhanced with 30 additional computers.
New soft seating in open plan space will allow users to read printed material, access online resources through their laptops or work in small groups. Up to 44 users can enjoy the soft seating clusters and group study area, enabled with RoamNet wireless network.
