Description

Description

The newly refurbished Thornaby Central Library shares provision with the Customer Services Centre and is the first of it's kind in the Borough. It is a truly modern, vibrant, friendly community space - incorporating a one stop shop for a wide range of council services for Thornaby residents that reflects and embodies the regeneration of the whole Town Centre.

The library offers a fantastic range of new books, modern furniture, 'state of the art' technology with improved ICT facilities including free Internet, Apple Macs and Wifi and is the first library in the Borough to offer RFID to its customers.

The success of this facility is largely due to the input from the residents of Thornaby following the previews of the design and technology, coupled with an excellent relationship with the designers, Design Concept, and their forward thinking and ideas before final decisions were made.
