The 1980's building always had lighting and ventilation problems and awkward-shaped public areas. The effect was dark and gloomy.
This project created an extra 35% public floor space by resiting a staff training ICT suite into a disused mobile garage and reducing the staff areas. This opened up one side of the building to increase natural light, and a more open flexible space.
Opening roof lights were added to increase natural ventilation and the whole building revamped. An accessible public toilet has been added. The internal courtyard has also been revamped and made accessible so it can be used for activities and by the public.
