The LRC contains 900 networked study desks in which 300 have already been equipped with PC's plus 12 network connections for laptop users. There are 1,200 study spaces in total, 100,000 journal volumes and access to CD's, DVDs and videos, all housed on 1,500m of shelving.
There are 11 networked group study rooms, 5 of which can accommodate 12 users and 6 can accommodate 6 users as well as an Information Skills Centre capable of accommodating up to 40 users.

People with a disability have access to all areas of the LRC and are supported by appropriately situated adaptive technologies
Flexible design allows for future internal alteration to satisfy the changing needs in library provision. Every effort has been made to make the building efficient, economical to run and secure. Lighting of the book stack areas is 'on-demand' and it is populated with environmentally-friendly PCs selected for their low noise and heat output
