Watford's winning college campus

D-Tech has implemented RFID and self service in the Learning Resource Centre at the new Watford campus of West Herts College.

1 February 2011

The campus opened in September 2010 and was designed by Weedon Partnership and built by Bam Construction.

Brand new and bang up to date, the campus has received accolades for its design which brings together several stakeholder groups including the local community, further education and adult education students.

The Learning Resource Centre amalgamates the original centres at Watford and Cassio campuses of West Herts College. Vibrant and modern it gives students offline, and online facilities and resources including over 20,000 stock items.

For students, the speed and autonomy of the self service is “magic” while, for staff, there is a new freedom, moving away from the counter and freeing them up to to help students.

Anne Harris, Head of Learning Resources, complimented D-Tech on their excellent customer service and aftercare and is looking ahead to using the RFID to its full potential for stock management and control.
