Welwyn Garden City Library, Hertfordshire
From author talks to baby rhyme times, there are events for everyone at this library.
Hertfordshire County Council approached WF Education as they needed a complete redesign of the Welwyn Garden City Library. On the ground floor, WF supplied new enquiry pods, new loose furniture, a children’s feature and some Cantilibra™ shelving. We reconfigured and added some new end of bay displayers to their existing Bomefa shelving.
On the first floor, there was already a good amount of shelving, but there was still a need to provide more study and casual seating and a small business library area. We supplied a new enquiry pod and all the loose furniture. We then re-configured the existing shelving to suit the new layout.
Also on the first floor is the creator space, where we supplied our Everna™ shelving for all the units. The creator space is a real hub and a focal point for young people and community groups. It contains 3D printers, photography equipment and an audio visual suite.
