Ealing Central Library

From darkness to light

The 1980s building was previously dark and uninviting - the new library is zoned to create a vibrant, inviting experience as you enter into the main library floor, with café, quick pick, children’s library, teenage library, main collection and local history display.

The mezzanine has been opened up, glazed and lit to provide a quiet study and research space visible from the entrance.

Bisset Adams was also asked to create a new visual identity for the library service, helping to move it ‘from passive to active’. Accent graphics are used throughout the library, including a ‘story wall’ in the children’s library.
